Remembering Rizal, Remembering A Hero. (Narrative Essay)

   When you hear the word "Hero" what first comes to your mind?, Some of us will think it's all about a person who fought and died for something, some will think it's Superman, Batman, Spiderman or even Captain America, sounds funny right? but it's true. But for me, one person first comes to my mind, It's Our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

   Dr. Jose Rizal, Philippine's national hero, the only hero i know who fought and died for his country that didn't use any swords.

He use his passion, his mind and his heart. Sad to say in our generation only few knows what is the reason 

why  Dr. Jose Rizal is our hero. Good thing some groups in our country cares like the group that produced a play about 

Jose Rizal and his childhood life.

   January 18, Friday, We witnessed a play, and it is all about the childhood days of Dr. Jose Rizal entitled "Batang Rizal".Teachers, Students and everyone who wanted to watch the play went to the Assumption's theater late in the afternoon. Some used their cars or services but most of us preffered to rent a jeepney. When we reached the place, we thought we'll watch the play already, but we waited for so long, But I did'nt find it boring because while waiting me and my classmates just chatted. When our teacher gave the tickets, we fell in line, All of us were so excited! We are so amazed to the theater since it's our first time to go their because we used to watched plays at AFP Theater. 

   The play started singing our national anthem led by some of the actors and .After that we were surprised to the actors' customes, We laughed but we actually did'nt liked the costumes. The play started with the students having trouble because of the student named, Pepito, because He accidentally broke the statue of Jose Rizal given by their mayor.Pepito didn't know what to do until he noticed a book, A book that is all about Rizal,When he opened it, Everything changed, He didn't know he is in Childhood years of Rizal. Because of that he discovered many things about "Pepe",  Rizal's nickname, That our national hero experienced being a kind like us, he is a normal kid that plays with other kids, being bullied, or being the bully. He also have a loving mother, and siblings although their family experienced different difficulties in life they it didn't break their love to each other, it made them stronger especially to Jose Rizal who have  a strong faith to God.When the play showed that since childhood days of Jose Rizal we can really see His total dedication to his country, and His heart to it. Pepito admired Pepe, He helped Pepe in many ways and Pepe helped Pepito about his problem, the statue, Pepe or Jose discovered that he will die, it made him sad but when he knew that he will become a hero because of fighting 

for his country he loved it and smile. at the end of the play, He wasn't able to restore the statue but they learned to apologize to the mayor because of being a good example of Jose. The Mayor accepted it, and everything is  ,Back to reality! The play , actors and actresses are all great, congratulations to whole production!

We left the theater with a big smile , "It was good!, It was great!", while on the way back to school, I realized that i wanted to be just like Jose Rizal,Thanks to the play , It made us remember Jose Rizal not just being a hero but a person who have a total dedication to his country.
